Atalaya New Course

The Atalaya New is a versatile golf course that caters to golfers of all levels, making it a popular destination on the Costa del Sol. The course features a strategic layout that faces inward towards the mountains, resulting in higher elevations being exposed to the wind. Consequently, thoughtful iron shots off the tee are a must for any golfer.

The fairways are gently undulating, and the greens are large and fast, creating an enjoyable experience for players. Despite the obvious hazards, the course can still trap even the most experienced golfers. Careful attention is necessary off the tees, as the course is unforgiving to wild hitters.

The course has five par threes, five par fives, and eight par fours, with five of the latter measuring under 300 yards. As a result, it is considerably shorter than the Old Course. The scorecard features two highly rated par threes, the 161-yard 4th hole, which plays across a pond to a raised green, and the 183-yard 12th hole, which is the first of two consecutive short holes that cleverly route the course onto lower terrain.
