Saurines de la Torre is a desert-style golf course that has sandy dunes lining the fairways and yet a surprising lack of bunkers. The 6 acre lake near the 18th hole ensures the final stretch will test even the best golf players. The water is well in play on the 18th, providing for a spectacular finish.
The hazards are created by heavily planted dunes between the fairways, two lakes, one of which is some 6 acres in size, rolling fairways that give it a links feel and elevated and very undulating greens.
While being promoted as a desert style course by the designer it actually gives a ’links’ feel with many of the holes snaking between ‘dunes’ with rolling fairways and undulating greens. For long hitters, the par 5 holes are certainly reachable in two being less than 480 meters.
